 Week 4 Continued

In class, we worked on finally cutting out all the pieces for both the shelves and bench as well as sanding them all and assembling them. I mainly helped out with the sanding and fitting of the bench and a little bit of the assembly for the bookshelf. I also did a lot of documentation for everyone in the group, so here are all the images I took while we worked on our project.

I'm glad our group at the very least managed to fully complete our bench mainly because I was in the small sub-group with both Nadia and Erica for the design of the bench so being able to see that piece fully completed was the most satisfying for me for the end of this project.

Papercraft Object: Final Revision March 19, 2020 After speaking with Bryan I realized that I didn't actually need to make my actual fan completely three dimensional and that I could just place multiple pieces over each other so with that I started making an even more complicated template.  Bryan gave an extremely useful suggestion of making the actual fan inside a pinwheel so that it can actually spin which is something that a lot of people suggested adding to the final and so I chose to do that and got to work on the actual templates.  Here are the paper templates I made on Rhino, If we had to cut this out this by hand I would've most likely given up but the laser cutter is an actual lifesaver.  Here are some renders of what the final piece would look like, For the final piece, I wanted the fan to be able to actually stand, so I added coins in the bottom of the handle to be able to support the actual fan and I also included the st

[04.) BLOG POST(S): PARAMETRIC FURNITURE/STRUCTURE SCALE MODEL] Part 1

 Rocking Chair The title for this object is Fusion Rocking Chair. Based on the name you can assume that this rocking chair is a fusion of two different styles. My main inspiration for this piece is Filipino-style rocking chairs, specifically one that my grandfather owned. Then I chose to combine the technique of weaving into a Glasgow style chair similar to the ones designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Here are some sample images to show the basic concept I chose to work with: My intention for this project was just to make the most obscure piece of furniture I could think of and add my own spin to it through my knowledge of art movements and personal experiences. I felt like overall the concept is pretty unique as it is meant to be a furniture piece that can also pass off as an art piece. Reversed Engineered Object: Progress II

 Reversed Engineered Object: Project II October 24, 2020 This week I finally managed to pull apart my entire object so I was finally able to get a close look at every small little detail without worrying about any small dimensions I couldn't get. This week I chose to do the second most challenging piece which is this contraption. And I also recreated the metal cylinder that holds everything together after realizing that it's actually two separate parts (ignore the tape I just used that so I can put it back together after finishing the project) Here's the progress on Rhino Part one is this top piece for the contraption shown above Part two is the actual hole puncher itself This is those first two parts put together Part three is the bottom piece of the contraption Here it is placed correctly with the other two parts The last part of this piece was the spiral And this is my final completed part The next piece I worked on was really quick and easy And here are all the parts th
